My Conclusion: Windows 10 Sucks!

Why even bother with the 3 steps of edit, copy, and then edit again, and then paste from toolbars?

Simple solution. Control C for copy, Control V for paste. If you want to select all pictures you do a Control A - that immediately highlights all pictures then you do the Control C, and Control V. To select only certain pictures you use your right or left mouse and drag around the pictures you want (and if you use right mouse the edit function is right there in the mouse dropdown menu).

 

I just hold the CTRL key down and select only the images I want.

 

Dougie that is fine except when you have 500 photos. In my Windows 8 PC just dragging over the files does not work I have to check off each box in front of them. Something is set wrong I will look at that tonight. Thanks for the "Control A" William I had forgotten that one and that they might have grasped that as well. I use "Ctrl C", "V" and "X" all the time. That's why these forums are so good for all of us!

 

Of course if you had 500 photos you would use CTRL+A. That only works if you Highlite the last one first.

 

No highlight none of them and do "Ctrl A" highlights them all.

 

Your right Rich. Just the way I have always done it was to H/L the last one. Your method is quicker by a nano second.

 

Rich select all is in the ribbon. I am unsure as to why you think it is missing.

 

If it is I have never seen it and I am not going looking for it either and actually "Ctrl A" beats hunting in that stupid time wasting and thoroughly
annoying "RIBBON" I wish Ms would stick up their collective asses too!

 

Select all is still there Rich. I love Windows 10 and haven't had one issue with it. Runs very smooth. Mind you I did the upgrade first, then put the ISO on a USB drive and did a fresh install. I have never like doing OS upgrades and always do a fresh install.

 

The only thing I have against Windows 10 is they released it too early at this point. f course that has always been true of every OS
with the possible exception of Windows 7, which I am still a proud user of!

 

I like Windows 7 too, but it had its fair share of issues when first released. If there's one thing that I could gripe about Windows 10 it's the fact that users with pretty decent systems but a little older can't run it because of the graphics involved with 10. I don't think that's fair especially to seniors on fixed incomes that can't afford the latest systems.

 

That is one of the reasons I cut off all upgrades to Windows 7 in my group...too many issues and I am one person so it takes too much for me to fix them. Many I managed to download new video drivers for but mfgrs like HP are slow to care about older hardware and seldom produce timely updates. Dell is a bit better but not much.
Lenovo is the only one I find on the ball about stuff like that.

 

That's probably because HP would rather sell a new unit than provide a "lifeline" for a perfectly fine unit.

 

Quite true. They are always the first ones to drop drivers when an OS goes away and the last to put up new drivers for a new OS.
Epson is the best and quickest in my experience among the printer group and you seldom lose any models either with a new OS with them.
