    Sorry for the delay in replying.
    It's been a hectic couple of days.

    I would be very careful when removing duplicate files from your system.
    You may be seeing the same individual files, these are not always duplicates.

    Public Pictures for example shows My Pictures that you have made available as Public
    Those locations are merely links to the underlying data.
    Both locations point to the same underlying data, hence when you delete from one location the other is also removed.

    What duplicate file cleaner are you using?
