    Hi,
I hope someone can help me. I downloaded Windows 10 about a week ago. A couple days ago I rebooted my computer in an attempt to fix sound problems but instead I ended up with a black screen. I tried to go back to Windows 7 through the troubleshooter but ended up in a 3 screen loop which is still looping endlessly. I can press shift + f10 and I get what looks like a DOS command screen I just don't know if there's a command that might get me out of this loop or some other way to get this fixed. The line that's on the DOS screen is $windows.~bt\sources> if that helps any. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using Norton Antivirus? If yes uninstall it there is a bad conflict going on.

I still have the same problem. I don't use Norton though so that's not an issue. I did read that they installed a patch to correct the reboot loop problem but it didn't help my problem unfortunately. I downloaded Windows 10 on a DVD to reload it and that got me out of the loop but I don't have a product key and Microsoft would not give me one-not even to repair my computer. Without a product key I can't do anything there either. I even tried to reload Windows 7 but my key from under my computer comes up invalid. This is driving me crazy!! I can get to a command prompt if there's any ideas of what I can put in to correct this issue. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks for the comments.

Don't go too long as you only have 30 days to opt out the easy way on Windows 10 and from what you see happening that I see with most clients you might be much happier just doing this now. When all is said and done I don't think this version of Windows has anything really attractive to want anyway! It is way slower than 8 and 8.1 and seems to have no end to issues.

On all the systems I have installed 10 on the speed is the same or faster. I suppose experience varies. The opt out is only for and in place upgrade install (windows 10 on top of 7). You do not lose your license to your original copy of standalone Windows 7. That is a very important clarification and distinction to make. You can always reinstall Windows 7 alone, as you had it before.
